I fitted the buffers this weekend. Not a difficult job but some care needed to sand inside the buffer stocks to remove the overspray from painting the beams.

The buffers had a burr from machining that needed to be removed to give a good smooth and round finish.

I sneaked into Kit 5 too by fitting the drain-cock shaft that transfers the lever motion from the cab to the cylinders.

Finally, to satisfy the readers of this blog I just took a photo of the weighshaft now in its correct position with the “top” mark in the right place. I also oiled all the new moving parts.
