I have just returned home from the Polly Owners Group (POG) Rally at Erewash Valley MES. What a great day: Friendly club as hosts with great tea, buffet lunch and cake; good range of Polly locos running to see what the finished article can look like; and, great chat with fellow owners and Andy and Jayne Clark.
The finished Molly Ann was there too but sadly not in steam. It did give me the chance, however, to take some more detailed photos (I have not repeated them in this blog as they might be of limited general interest).
I was brave enough to bring my part built loco and the audience was kind. I also received some tips for the future kits and for running the loco. These ranged from thoughts on painting to how to transport the loco covering fire lighting, lubrication and many other aspects along the way.
The advice from other, more experienced, owners will prove very valuable I am sure.
The whole atmosphere was one of sharing experiences and was extremely friendly. I will definitely try and make future events.
Hi richard great to meet you today i bet you cannot wait to get yours in steam, lookin forward to seeing it next year at the rally. Bryn
