Following my duties at Sutton Coldfield MES’s Bank Holiday open day, I have had a pleasant Bank Holiday Monday afternoon in the sun finishing my coupling rods and I have also done one of the connecting rods.
The Dremel Vice has proved really useful for this work and the fact that it can be clamped to the patio table is a real boon. My wife doesn’t quite share that opinion!
Just the connecting rods to do and I managed to finish one of these this afternoon.
I am pleased with my efforts on this part of the kit. For once I felt a certain mastery of what I was trying to do. Andy’s sound advice and tips have really helped in terms of technique and objective of the task.
Finally, here are the coupling rods on the wheels. Only one slightly tight spot as they turn but that will “run in” I am told by Polly.
