I took the masking foil off this morning and am pleased with the outcome. A tiny bit of overspray has managed to get in but it has been easy to wash off with a damp sponge. There are some areas that I have touched up and now painted the inside section of the buffer beam with a brush.

A close up of the frames after cleaning. Pleased with the effect.

I have also experimented with my Badger 200 airbrush. I had never used an airbrush before. I was surprised how easy it was and how controllable compared with a spray can. My plan now is to wrap the entire painted elements in masking foil and tape and then to airbrush the Signal Red onto the outside of the buffer beams.

I am just going to finish the cleaning and touch up of the inside of the frames before doing that.

If you had told me two weeks ago that I would have achieved this outcome I would have been very happy.
